The Lansdowne

Project: The Lansdowne Show Home

Client: Thakeham at Welborne

Year: 2025

This show home scheme was thoughtfully designed to celebrate the ‘Garden Village’ ethos at the heart of the Welborne development. The interiors draw heavily on the relationship between the home and its surrounding landscape, creating a calm and inviting environment that feels both timeless and connected to nature.

In the living room, a bespoke tapestry-effect wallpaper was introduced to frame the beautiful garden views and the double doors that open directly onto them. This feature not only enhances the connection to the outdoors but also subtly references the traditional architectural language of the development, adding a layer of quiet elegance and heritage. A soft palette of neutrals and muted greens runs throughout the home, reinforcing the ‘Garden Village’ narrative while creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The scheme balances sophistication with comfort, ensuring the spaces feel both considered and liveable.

The brief required the careful re-use of furniture from previous Thakeham show homes, which were thoughtfully reimagined and combined to create a completely new scheme with its own distinct identity. One of the more playful touches can be found in the grandchild’s bedroom, where a Quentin Blake wallpaper introduces a sense of nostalgia and charm. This unexpected detail adds personality and warmth, while its whimsical, nature-inspired motifs tie seamlessly back to the overall concept.
